If users are involved in international business transactions, including the exporting of anything from the U.S., it is most likely subject to the U.S. export laws. Also, as users will learn in this course, the cost of noncompliance can result in severe civil and/or criminal penalties.
Therefore, if students are involved in international business transactions, they need to understand and be able to comply with the applicable U.S. export laws - this course is intended to assist them with this objective. Keep in mind that the amount of time and effort that each company will need to spend on export compliance efforts, and which export laws apply to your company, will depend on the type of products or technology you export, the countries that you export to, and other aspects of your business. As such, each company's export compliance efforts and programs will be different.
