	Length 45 minutes to 4 hours depending on configuration Target Audience U.S.-based employees and other personnel at units or facilities that deal with dual-use goods, software or technology subject to the EAR and/or U.S.-based employees and other personnel at units or facilities that deal with military goods and services subject to the ITAR. Overview While this course is intended to provide your employees with a general understanding of how U.S. export controls can affect your business, it also explains to each employee how an export may arise in their daily job functions and gives. The course overviews U.S. export control laws and regulations, and provides scenarios that describe situations involving certain business processes like marketing and engineering to illustrate how export controls can affect your company’s daily activities. Both dual-use and defense scenarios can be configured to be client-specific. EAR Component ITAR Component		Configurability The course structure allows you to create various levels of training depending on the modules in the course that you assign to a particular trainee. CE works with you to identify the specific modules that individual trainees in your organization need to take depending on their job function and activities. Sample Configuration - Awareness Training: This type of configured course could target employees and other personnel whose job responsibilities are rarely impacted by the EAR or ITAR, but nevertheless need to know the basics so they can recognize an export situation when it comes up and get help. Sample Configuration - Business Function Training: This configuration would entail developing a specific set of scenarios and case studies depending on the trainee’s needs. This level targets employees and other personnel whose job responsibilities intersect the EAR or ITAR on a regular basis. For example, a recruiter in your Human Resources department who is regularly involved in recruiting and hiring foreign nationals for jobs that involve EAR-controlled goods and technology would be assigned the scenarios/case studies for Hiring and Staffing in addition to the Awareness Training.

ITAR Component

The ITAR Module starts with an overview of the ITAR in layman’s terms and how export compliance is an important element of your organization’s success. The course then provides an overview of some of the key definitional concepts that are important in understanding the ITAR such as what an export is, what types of goods and services are covered, etc. Finally, the course runs through some real-world scenarios and case studies of export situations to illustrate how the ITAR affects activities in your organization. In order to provide realism for employees and other personnel, the scenarios and case studies are organized to address particular business functions.
